NYC Fashion Week

Lena’s Adventure to NYC Client Showings & Fashion Week 2012:

I had a wonderful dinner in Little Italy Friday night. Since I speak fluent Italian they took great care of us at the authentic restaurant in Little Italy. Saturday, I actually showed two properties, to a client of mine. As you can imagine the properties were apartment/condos although they were very nice, like all things in NYC they have a big price tag. Fortunately there are many neighborhoods to explore in NYC. Then my favorite part: I attended Fashion Week in NYC with my daughter, Jenna! We had a blast.  It was so much FUN! Not only that but I saw Rod Stewart – he said hello to me while walking around the Bryant Park area. After the run in with Rod, we spent the afternoon belting out his tunes.

If you know me, I love to network and took the opportunity while at Fashion Week to meet all the designers. Two particular designers really made an impression on us: Ann Mitchell from Texas whom I met on Saturday night in person after the Show.

Ann Mitchell is just as amazing as her little black dress collection to help raise money for Autism, “Dress for Success” and other charities. I found her to be such a lovely woman.  It was an honor to meet her.

SaVaughn Johnson who is from Mississippi, and is a Southern Belle herself  was so polite and kept saying “Yes Mam” to me. Her designs were also beautiful with a twist of a modern “Southern Belle”. So, So pretty. SaVaughn is new to the industry and has no formal design education or background but is a very spiritual young lady.

There were many other designers but I felt these two women presented absolutely wonderful creative and eye catching designs. Now we just have to bring them to Philadelphia and I of course offered my assistance in making that possible!

Side Bar: The following Saturday we went to dinner at Becco’s owned by Lidia Bastianich great TV Chef author, and restaurateur – I didn’t meet her but I sat with her friend at the bar who is originally from our local area and now lives and owns restaurants in NYC. Small world, what fun… ONLY IN NYC!

More adventures to come, for now I hope you enjoy the photos:
