Lights, Camera – Staging

With Spring around the corner it’s time to give your home a fresh look for potential buyers! It is smart to do this BEFORE your Realtor takes the photo of your home for your listing.  A few quick tips that will go a long way are below along with a short informative staging video by NBC Universal.

1. Declutter. Remove or organize your ‘extra items’ aka clutter. If you have a lot of stuff, consider purchasing a storage unit, Flex-Box or extra storage bins for the attic or garage. Give these items a temporary home so your home can shine!  Removing the extras from the floors, shelves and corners will help the potential buyer see the true size of the room.

2. Personalization. Do you have lots of family photos, picture frames, bills, packed counters and dresser drawers around your home? For the realtor photos and before an Open House, put away your personal items and display a few select neutral items. You want the potential buyer to see themselves in your home.

3. Wall Art/Fresh Paint. If your walls are floral, striped, outdated or just a ‘loud’ color now is a great time to paint over with a neutral color to brighten and refresh the room.
